TAFRAOUT
Morocco
03-2020 – 06-2020 : I was at Anchor Point in Morocco when the King announced an initital 2 week lockdown and we had six hours to make a decision.
a) trying to get back to the boarder and a ferry to Europe
b) heading back to Imsouane ( a fisherman village w a great wave, that we already knew)
c) driving to Tafraout (an oasis in the Anti-Atlas-mountains I had never even heard of)
Luckily we were not alone at Anchor Point and after talking to a few other people in Vans we decided that it is better to stay together and opted for C. e owe option C to a wild guy from England, that had been there before and ensured us that there will be plenty of water, food and solitude.

2 weeks in the mountain did sound like a good idea. Little did we know that that inital lockdown would turn into 3 months.

But I honestly don't know where I would be today if I wouldn't have ended up in this mountain village a such a great group of people. I can't remember when I experienced being bored out of my mind to this extend, while at the same time making some of my favourite memories. Climbing up mountains, bonfires, movie nights, wild boars, snakes and scorpions coming out of hibernation.
To capture all of our advebtures and give my memories a place I draw this map. Once finished I gave each of my friends a copy.

When they told me what it means to be able to have a map to go back in their own memories, I knew I created something special.
