BALEAL
& FERREL
Portugal

12-2024 – 03-2024 : I honestly used to skip the whole area around Peniche for a few years, mostly because I’d heard the surf was always crowded. But once I started spending more time there—thanks to the screen-printing studio in Ferrel where I get my shirts made / the friends I found there—I fell in love with the place. With the small-town feel, surf spots for every kind of condition, the beautiful cliffs, and that there was a lot going on and all kinds of interesting people to meet. So I changed my mind – and got used to the crowds. For this map I dove really deep into the local history, talked to a lot od different people and was amazed by the stories I uncovered—many of which even longtime residents had never heard before. Stories of vikings, protest as well as donkeys, dolphins, monkeys, bears and tigers.
